「お前はこの花菱で働ि& Female 12383;めに生まれてきたような子だ……。」      Hanamachi Monogatari is a boy's love game created by VividColorr (of Silver C Cute haos fame) featuring the lovelyartwork of Takatsuki Noboru. Then again, if Female you've found this capture guide, you probably already knew thatr just wondered what the hell the link on the side meant.
     Hanamachi takes place during 1937 in Japan. The main character is Shuri, an orphan. Ever since his mother died and his relatives abandoned him, he's been forced to work as a maid in one of Japan's red-light districts. He's a huge pushover and can never satisfy his superiors, who always bully him and beat him. His days are filled with nothing but work and abuse. One day, however, a man comes upon Shuri being beaten to within an inch of his life and takes notice of Shuri's beauty. The man asks Shuri's bullies, "How much?" The bullies realize that the man is Toujou Tatsumi, the head of Hanabishi, a tea house that also provides the "service" of beautiful men for its paying customers. After being bought by Tatsumi, Shuri must find a way to adapt to his new life, find his place as one of Hanabishi's newest attractions, and discover true love. As Shuri, the choices you make determine your ultimate happiness or doom.

Important Characters「あ……朱璃です。こちらこぞ、よろしくお願いします。」


Shuri: The protagonist. Worries a lot. Hates confrontation. Most used phrases are "I'm sorry" and "aaaAAAaannn...!" The least interesting character (save, perhaps, Kajiyama).


Toujou Tatsumi: Head of Hanabishi. Somewhat of a smug jackass. Enjoys manipulating others. Has older-brother issues and a soft spot for Shuri.


Enomoto Sakuya: A Hanabishi veteran. Helps teach Shuri the ropes. Very kind. Looked up to by nearly everyone at Hanabishi. Has a mysterious tragic past.


Souma Izumi: A Hanabishi employee about Shuri's age. Shows Shuri around Hanabishi. Shuri's first friend. Enjoy his split personalities!


Kajiyama Keiji: Hanabishi's bouncer and Tatsumi's henchman. Keeps anyone from getting in or out of Hanabishi. Extremely strong. Seems like a nice guy.


Igarashi Kaoru: A famous painter who lives at Hanabishi. Very friendly. Doesn't get along with Tatsumi. Always wants to paint Shuri's picture.


Kagami Seishirou: A regular Hanabishi customer. Works as a merchant. Loves to give Shuri random tasty or cool things. Has stepson issues and REALLY creepy bad ends.


Nikaidou Masato: An army captain who comes to Hanabishi as a guest. Seems to be really intent on talking to Tatsumi. Plays harmonica. Has younger-brother issues.

Capture Guide「私だけのものになりなさい、朱璃……。」

     Many fans of boy's love games who don't speak Japanese fluently (myself included) and thus don't understand what significance a decision in the game may have to the story resort to capture guides in order to get all the CGs and scenes. Since this capture guide is designed so that players of Hanamachi who know little or nothing of Japanese can easily work their way through the game, I'll say which number option to choose and put the Japanese option just to verify that I mean whichever option I've typed. I've also noted at which points in the storylines you get CGs or scenes to add to your collection. An example of the way I'll note them: (CG 4/11), meaning CG 11 on page 4. Scenes will be marked SC.
* You automatically get (CG 1/1) before having to make even a single decision.
